Crimes Gadaffi committed

We noted that Libyans were about to sing the Arabic version of BASIIMA OGENZE, even as Ugandan politicians struggle to convince themselves that Libya under Gadhafi was all about want, hunger and the gnashing of teeth. Now brace yourselves for more…

Opa on toy jets

Uganda Peoples Defence Air Force (UPDAF) might be shocked to learn that according to 'expert' Ugandans here and abroad, the jets they recently acquired are either junk or toys or both.

Others are not so sure and urge caution in judging the jets, "lest they be used against anti-NRM protesters" marching on the streets! Not to be outdone, one or two argue that President Yoweri Museveni deliberately bought the toy jets because he missed out on toys when he was a kid!

Will Libya Implode?

Many recall Kampala chaos after the fall of Milton Obote

Libya, which was until recently a stable and thriving state under Colonel Muammar Gadaffi, has been transformed by 'democracy' into a disunited territory of well-armed tribal militias. The midwife to this monstrous mutation was NATO, whose bombs reduced Africa's foremost welfare state to a smouldering ruin in need of massive foreign aid for reconstruction. We hear even the Great Man-Made River was destroyed because Gadaffi built it.

Kampala in1985
There are fears that Libya could slide into the anarchy that prevailed over Kampala from 27th July 1985, when Obote fell, to 26th January 1986, when Yoweri Museveni's National Resistance Army restored order by force.
