Turkish Airlines launches with attractive rates

Turkish Airlines has today inaugurated three-times-weekly non-stop flights between Istanbul and Entebbe with some attractive promotional rates.

Rebound flights to Istanbul will have one stop in Dar-es-Salaam before proceeding to the Turkish capital.

Apart from its reputation of charging relatively lower rates compared to other airlines, Turkish airlines has opened with even more attractive rates of Euros 376 for the Istanbul to Entebbe flight, while Istanbul - Dar-es-Salam flights will cost eleven Euros less at 367.

 

Uganda gets new currency notes

Following two-years of a highly secretive operation, the Bank of Uganda on Monday May 3, unveiled a new series of highly secure currency notes at a high-level event held at Sheraton hotel in Kampala.

Scheduled to go into circulation on May 17, 2010, the new series of notes comprise the usual denominations of 1,000/=,  5000/=,  10,000/=, 20,000/=, 50,000 and a new one of 2,000/=.

 

Three qualify for pilsner spin master semis

A total of three University students: Fred Juma from Nkumba University, Kariisa and Murug Daniel from Kampala International University(KIU)  won the Pilsner Spin Master II Inter University quarterfinals held at Nkumba University over the weekend.

 Fred Juma a.k.a DJ Yankee took on the turntables and beat other competitors to emerge overall winner; Kariisa who also put up a good fight took the second position while Murug Daniel took the third position. Platinum DJs, the Judges for night explained that Fred Juma was confident,
 

Kampala for EAC investment meeting

The third edition of the East African Investment conference (EACIC) is set to open in Kampala on 23-30 April and aims to showcase the region's investment potential that has been spurred by economic integration. 

The week-long conference is being organized by the East African Community Secretariat in collaboration with the Ugandan government and the five regional investment promotional agencies and will be held at Speke Resort Hotel in Munyonyo.

Scheduled to take place from 28-30 April 2010 at Resort beach hotel Munyonyo, the first time it is being held in Uganda, will run under the banner "EAC Common market; The preferred Investment Destination".
