Turkish Airlines launches with attractive rates

Turkish Airlines has today inaugurated three-times-weekly non-stop flights between Istanbul and Entebbe with some attractive promotional rates.

Rebound flights to Istanbul will have one stop in Dar-es-Salaam before proceeding to the Turkish capital.

Apart from its reputation of charging relatively lower rates compared to other airlines, Turkish airlines has opened with even more attractive rates of Euros 376 for the Istanbul to Entebbe flight, while Istanbul - Dar-es-Salam flights will cost eleven Euros less at 367.

This offer, according to the airline officials includes all taxes and will run until July 14, 2010.

Turkish Airlines’ flights to and from Entebbe and Dar-es-Salaam have been scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays every week.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Entebbe International Airport following the arrival of the airline’s maiden landing at the airport.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Managing Director Dr. Rama Mukuza welcomed the commencement of the airline’s operation to Entebbe as a step that will go a long way in furthering CAA’s ambition of increasing passenger traffic going through Entebbe.
 
“It’s evident that additional flights like this will immensely contribute towards achieving our ambition of achieving 1.8 million passengers by 2022 and even surpass it,” said Dr. Makuza.

Turkish Airline is a member of the Star Alliance network that was established in 1997 now with an overall network of 21,050 daily flights to 1,167 destinations in 191 countries.

Handi Topcu, the Chairman of Turkish Airlines said: “Despite the global economic crisis, Uganda’s economy is very promising and we at Turkish Airlines are humbled to operate in Uganda. Our launching here signifies the growth of Turkish Airlines.”

The airline launched with an Airbus A320-family aircraft and promises to offer both business and economy class travel.
