After-lunch lessons can be such a headache for both teachers and students in many of Uganda’s classrooms. While some of the students tend to feel sleepy after taking meals, others show signs of tiredness owing to long hours of study. This makes conventional teacher-to-student learning less effective and boring.
But thanks to technological innovations, learning is taking on new forms and meaning. MultiChoice Uganda, a local distributor of digital satellite television services, has come up to demonstrate the power of technology in extending the learning spectrum to include latest information, and practical tools.

The Muhairwe Education Trust Limited, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports wishes to launch its first scholarship scheme for the undergraduate intake of the Academic Year 2011/2012, starting from September 2011. The scholarship targets exceptionally brilliant but disadvantaged students from all regions of Uganda i.e. Northern, North Eastern/Karamoja, Eastern, Central/Southern and Western Regions.
Applications are invited from students who have completed their A-level studies in rural schools in Uganda. The scholarships shall cover all aspects that a government of Uganda undergraduate scholarship would cover i.e. tuition fees, functional fees, accommodation & meals for the entire period of university education, subject to continuous assessment of the candidates' academic performance at the University.

It is commonly said that getting involved in relationships with teachers is unhealthy. It is also equally unhealthy and unprofessional for teachers to get involved with their students as this may amount to cross-generational sex.
Such relationships result from the way we, students, freely interact with our teachers and the ease with which the teachers receive us to their offices, staffrooms or homes.
Actually the teachers feel good when we move closer to them in relation to seeking guidance on academic and social problems. They always encourage us not to fear them saying that they are not animals, but humans like us.
