Re-known human rights activists and Pentecostal preacher Pastor Martin Ssempa has come out and advised police to arrest all celebrities connected with Development Channel as ambassadors accusing them of being accomplices of the fraudster investor.
Development Channel is owned by a Nigerian investor Frank Lambert who came to Uganda in 2017 with a dream of making it a poverty free state.
With his theme ‘Africa first’ Lambert managed to convince as many Ugandans as he could to buy shares worth eight hundred and forty thousand shillings from twenty five development channel partner companies in the United states of America. With the same money, a share holder received a tablet worth the same money.
The desire to attract a great following saw him approach entertainment personalities like commedian Richard Tuwangye, Lwanga Douglas, Fik Fameica, Sheila Gashumba, Hussein Mushema, Salvador, Eleanor Nabwiso, Laura Kahunde, Rogers Mugisha and others to become ambassadors and so many of these celebrities were seen in development channel advertisements.
On Wednesday this week, police arrested Lambert charging him more than two hundred cases including fraud. However, Pastor Sempa has come out and advised the police to take in all the celebrity ambassadors as well because they influenced the rest in getting cheated off the little money they had.
