Like it or not, when it comes to talk about Uganda schools with a recognisable musical set up Buddo Secondary School stands out as a favourite for many people.
However, during the just concluded music, dance and drama competitions for secondary schools held at the National Theatre, it was a different story.
From the 13 schools which participated in the competition, the Wakiso district-based St Juliana high school beat all the others with a score of 754 points; it was followed by Buddo S.S.
The competition- which attracted schools from various Uganda regions except those from the north- were conducted on the theme of the newly launched East Africa Common Market.
Poems, original compositions, folk songs, set pieces, drama and dances from different regions and culture were showcased by the participating schools.
The festival however nearly turned into a fashion show with actors and actresses vying to beat each at showcasing fashions. blog comments powered by Disqus
