Radio Sapientia last week screened 130 applicants of which 60 competitors were selected to compete in the third edition of the "Kakensa" quiz  which kicked off this week.
The annual event seeks to promote the station's relationship with its listeners.

The successful competitors will be quizzed in a cross section of categories including; social life, current affairs, culture, religion, sports, music, dance and drama, politics and economics among others.

The winner will walk away with a car, which is expected to keep the Sapientia label for at least a year.

Though the winner will have overall authority over the car, Radio Sapentia will retain the documents for at least a year to keep a close supervisory role with the company's promotion targets.

Josephine Nassaazi, one of the contestatnts from Nakulabye told The Sunrise that she was inspired by the desire to test her knowledge in different aspects of life besides winning the coveted prize of a car.

"I want to showcase my capacity by answering all questions that will be asked and of course winning that car," she said.

Monsignor Dr John Baptist Kauta, the General Secretary of the Episcopal Conference of Uganda, who was the Chief Guest at the event, said that successful participation in the event was to exhibit the ability of the contestants to be achievers in life.

After engaging the contestants in a mock session, Kauta was overwhelmed by the precision with which they answered his religious and secular questions, prompting him to refer to them as moving encyclopedias.

"You the participants are moving encyclopedias" Said Dr.Kauta to further assert the resourcefulness of the participants.

The event that started in 2008 had Martin Ntege as its first winner in 2009 the coveted prize was won by Nicholas Nsubuga.

Sister Samanya said in an interview with the The Sunrise that the over all objective of the programme is to give back to their royal listeners while playing a role in improving people's livelihoods.
