There is something about artistes who do gospel music that Grapevine thinks must be annoying St. Peter in his resting place. Apparently, it's a recognizable fact that many a famous musician worldwide started on their career with singing gospel music; mostly in church choirs.
With that in mind, our experts predict that by the end of this year, our self proclaimed prophetess "Nabbi Omukazi" aka Maggie Kayima, will have abandoned churning out gospel numbers and will fully go secular singing about all those things that are not gospel, especially love and sex.
The experts have come to this deduction after noting the trend this lady's music seems to be taking. From her fame-inspiring number of "God bless you," she has followed this with two current hits- one of them is called "Obwongo bw'abakazi" and the latest is a number that she has done a collabo with Dr.Heavyweight Chameleon.
Kayima's present leanings has also brewed a storm amongst born-again pastors and gospel singers. The most contrasting views come from the two heavyweights of gospel music: pastor Bugembe says that Kayima is diverting from her calling while Judith Babirye says the development is okay.
But here at Grapevine, what we can do is to remind all of you Kayima's critics that even Jesus is on record to have declared that he was sent to the lost sheep! Wamma Nabbi sing for us secular music so that God can bless us. Amen! blog comments powered by Disqus
