Would you date a lady with tattoos?

Share

Do I really have the chance to undress and inspect her body before I decide whether or not to date her or will I have to ask every woman I meet whether or not she has a tattoo on her body before I delve into serious relationship?

It's ridiculous; this is similar to what one young girl told her mother. "Mummy I will never marry a man who snores."

Her beaming mother replied, "That's fine sweet heart, but you only have to be careful as you find out who snores and who doesn't." And the mother was right because you have to sleep with them first if you are to find out who snores and who doesn't.

I don't know. May be I would not. But again how will I know that she is wearing a tattoo. Some tattoos are on hidden parts of the body, say, the thighs, belly, breast and so on.

In Russia, for instance, tattoos are popular only among criminals. Most tattoos wearers in America are prisoners, former convicts, notorious teenagers and gang stars. But can we really be rational if we judged personalities by what they do with their bodies?

Quite a number of people out there have a perception that wearing a tattoo holds dubious implications. The wearer could be a gay, a criminal, a harlot, a drug addict, a member of a cult and so on. May be there are right. We can't rule out such possibilities.

Society sometimes moulds us to hate certain things and treasure others without giving an in-depth explanation as to why.  Tattoo experts think that it is illogical to judge a person by his or her tattoos. Most of those designs have stories behind them that might prove very interesting. Tattoos may reflect deep personality. The meanings hidden in a tattoo may be plain or hidden; dark or light, black or white or in full vivid colour; like making a stage in your life moving you into depression or personal power. There are cultural and tribal symbols that have taken up the shape of tattoos.

Someone wearing two butterflies on his shoulders believes that he has got an explanation.  One butterfly is flying in one direction while the other is below it facing the opposite way. They are meant to protect his heart.

A snake around the neck or shoulder means that the wearer feels lonely without his pet reptile. Rainbows, triangles, flags and ribbons all mean pride. But not all tattoos have such rosy explanations. For instance, spider within a web indicates a drug addiction or it means the wearer is a thief. A crucifix (a cross won on the chest) signifies a prince of thieves.

The Japanese dragon is one of the hottest mythological creature picked for inking and a classic choice for a tattoo design. It is mostly outlined as a wingless heavily -scaled snake -like creature with clawed legs and a horned or antlered cameral head, and is related to sea, clouds or heavens. A dragon tattoo signifies strength, knowledge and liberty.  A spider lily tattoo is a symbol of painful family secretes. There are many others tattoo symbols that mean a number of things.

There are people who would wish to have tattoos but only discouraged by society's interpretation and the pains you have to endure in order to have one. The pain and fear factor are important considerations. It is true that every one has a different threshold of pain. What one person considers not painful at all could be devastating to another. Some people describe the feeling as a "hot scratch" while others said it was "annoying".

There would be no harm in having a tattoo with good meaning. The only assignment tattoo wearers have is to change the attitude of the society towards tattoos by explaining the intentions and benefits if any. Otherwise tattoo wearers are looked at as aliens and recidivists whose identity leaves a lot of questions to be answered. Am, however, soon finding out whether or not marriage with a woman having tattoos lasts.
