Theatre Factory draws new program for Al Shabaab scare

Share
Events organizers are still scratching their heads and are yet to find a suitable solution following the recent bomb blasts that took place in Kampala.

Night clubs and all the city hangouts are still cursing the Al Shabaab terrorists for not only killing innocent people but also for creating fear among their customers who up to now fear attending different events in different parts of Kampala.

A few days after the incident, the government announced one week of national mourning which was emulated by all the companies involved in the entertainment industry. Many concerts and album launches which were supposed to take place were all suspended.
After observing what is happening to other night spots  in terms of attendance, Theatre Factory’s Comedy Nite has now decided to change the location from an open space (National theatre's gardens) to the auditorium where they feel their fans are safe because of the thorugh checks that is ministered to the revellers.

"We have decided to move away from that open place for a while because we feel that our fans are not that safe being in that open place near the road following the incident which happened just a few weeks back," Phillip  Luswata  told The Sunrise.

Though the place looks more comfortable and a lot more secure, it has not yet attracted the usual comedy nite crowds, which goes to show that people are still jittery following those terrible events.

"This is a new arrangement, people are not used to it yet.  but with time, I am sure more people will come around," another source adds.
Theatre factory is yet to decide whether National theatre's auditorium will turnout to be their permanent place, for the comedy nite outfit as negotiations on the matter are still on-going between the  theatre and the administration of  the act.
