Zak’s Awkward Ideas: Two reasons why MP Ssekikubo deserves a kick out of NRM

Share
Yes, I will state this without fear or favor. For the first time in my life I also want to speak in metaphors about this issue in the NRM party.

The Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga County, Theodore Ssekikubo should be kicked out of the National Resistance Movement. I wish I were to be the leader of this party, I swear I would never at any one time hesitate to kick the butts of that son of Ssembabule out of that party.

I am sorry I have had to get this emotional and sorry that I have been compelled to make such an outrageous suggestion but I kindly beg that you listen to my reasons for this suggestion before you get at my throat for the suggestion.

First and foremost Ssekikubo is a very disobedient legislator. He is one of those legislators that have constantly flouted some of the principles that the NRM stands for.

For example it is very clear that the party in power prefers legislators that are submissive to those that love to shout and yell for what is right. After all how important is what people think is right to a party whose major objective is to stay in power whether through the right or the crooked means. So, when the Ssekikubos of this world begin screaming over what they think is not right and fair in such a party, they simply irritate my soul.

Does Ssekikubo think Mzee was crazy when at one time he said that he would not mind if Ugandans voted for MPs that go to Parliament and sleep as long as they wake up to back the position of the NRM in Parliament on any matter of contention? May be Mzee just forgot to add that it mattered not whether the position of NRM would be right or not.

Probably Ssekikubo thinks Mzee was wrong on this particular point for otherwise why is he always battling against such positions of his party when claiming to fight for what is right. Right my foot! He can go to hell (or sorry I wanted to say heaven) if he wants to have what is right and fair but in NRM. No. I think it is the wrong place for one to ask for such things like what is right and fair.

Secondly Ssekikubo simply embarrassed the party with his over zealous antics during those NRM elections in Ssembabule. Honestly I would not have had any problem if Ssekikubo had been wielding that gun due to a more serious reason but just the theft of votes. I do not think it was really wise to pull out a gun and swagger around scaring people just because some of his votes had been stolen.

It really infuriates me because Ssekikuubo is not the first person to suffer from election malpractices at the hands of big shots in his party. Does Ssekikubo know that Abdu Katuntu also suffered the same fate at the hands of one of those big shots a few years ago? It is just that court that came to Katuntu's rescue when it ordered for a re run in Bugweri County in which the MP was restored to the seat.

We also all know that Besigye and other opposition candidates were victims of theft of votes as court found out in its judgment. Court affirmed that Besigye's votes had been stolen only that the theft of the votes had not been significant enough to have affected the results of the election.  Ha-ha-ha, funny judgment but true anyway.

So when Ssekikuubo comes wielding a gun just because allegedly a big shot in his party has stolen some of his votes in a party's primary election, I am shocked.

I am shocked because Ssekikuubo should have known better the kind of people he is dealing with in his party. And for that reason, Ssekikuubo has no right to be an embarrassment to NRM just because he is ignorant of what NRM is. Therefore, he should either leave the party or get kicked out. Simple: but that is only if Ssekikubo or the NRM can listen to my suggestion anyway.
