Uganda's most exciting cultural campaign dubbed "Senator Cultural Galas" is back.

The cultural galas which are aimed at celebrating, promoting and rewarding cultures across Uganda will run up to February where the winner is to walk away with 6m shillings.

This year's Cultural Galas are expected to attract several participants from regions across Uganda. Notable is the fact that the galas will be held from grass root level through beginning the sieving phase at the county level.

Out of these 40 counties, 20 Senator Districts will be created that will compete eventually leading up to the 10 regional finals.  In order to create excitement and initiate the cultural festivities, the galas will be launched in all districts in Uganda starting with Kisoro.

Speaking at the launch, ceremony Innocent Tibayeita, Uganda Breweries Limited's Marketing Manager Emerging Brands revealed that since the galas started three years later, they have played a strong community initiative whose emphasis is on celebrating different cultures.

"Besides that culture is a brilliant way of uniting our different tribes by speaking through a common language of music, dance or drama. Regardless of where you are from the sound of drums, good music, and skilled dancers will always bring excitement to your heart" he says.

"This year's galas will run for a period of seven months in order to cover the whole country and give an opportunity to cultural groups across Uganda to compete for the Prize. We urge all cultural groups to register at the county level for a chance to compete in this exciting and rewarding campaign." He adds.

Several prizes have been added to increase excitement for the competing groups. Prizes such as cows, bulls, bicycles, are all up for grabs and are to be awarded at each gala event throughout the competition.
