Kabaka Mutebi gives scouts matching orders

Share
Scouts and Girl guides are in danger of losing their legendary Kaazi camping site, after their landlord - Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi gave them matching orders.

To show he is not joking, Kabaka has filed a case at the Land Division of the High Court, demanding that the scouts and girl guides relocate.
The Kabaka is furious that the scouts and guides have for long defaulted on paying premium and ground rent for the land.

His Majesty also faults the Scouts and Girl guides for leasing out the land to third parties, who have since embarked on excavating sand and doing other activities on the land, which lowers the lands value.

But, the scouts say they are now under the Uganda Land Commission, who is their landlord under the law.

The Kabaka dismisses this line of defense, arguing that he has a land title to the land in question, after it was returned to him by the Uganda Government. Justice Aweri Opio started hearing the dispute on September 9.
