The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has released a revised roadmap for its primaries ahead of the forthcoming general elections scheduled early next year.

The chairman of the NRM Electoral Commission Dr. Tanga Odoi said the party will holds primaries for MP on October 26, 2015. The highly anticipated party primaries were postponed due to alleged irregularities.

The alleged irregularities forced key members of party including ministers Aidah Nantaba and Anne Amelia Kyambadde declaring that they would not participate in the party primaries for MP after they were allegedly rigged out of district leadership polls.

The MPs primaries will be followed with the Party’s National Delegates Conference set for October 30 to November 2, as the day he will be nominated at Namboole.

However starting Monday next week, October 12, the party will conduct primaries for LC3 chairpersons, LC3 councillors, LC3 women councillors, LCV and Municipal councillors, and division councillors.

Besides nominating MPs, the party has also set Oct 26, as the date nomination of District Women MPs to contest on the party ticket. The same date will be used for nominating LCV Chairpersons, Lord Mayor and Municipal Mayors.
