The full results of the census that was conducted in 2014 will be released on Thursday March 24, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has announced.
The partial results released in August 2015 put the total number of Ugandans at 34.9m. The full report, will break down the population into the numbers of females and males, children and adults, rural and urban dwellers, among other categories. This breakdown helps in planning and other purposes.
The release function, to be held at the Serena International Conference Centre in Kampala, will be presided over by President Museveni.
The 2014 census was the tenth to ever be conducted in Uganda and the fifth since Uganda gained her Independence.
