Ethiopian airlines jet crash claims 157 lives of 33 nationalities

An Ethiopian airline that crushed six minutes after taking off had  149 passengers and eight crew members with 33 nationalities on board.

The Flight ET 302 that crashed near the town of Bishoftu, 62 kilometres southeast of the capital Addis Ababa. The  plane was a Boeing 737-800 MAX, registration number ET-AVJof departure from Addis Ababa airport to Nairobi ‘The flight had unstable vertical speed after takeoff,’ the flight tracking website Flightradar24 tweeted.

Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their dear ones in the accident

‘the office of the PM, on behalf of the government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express its deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 0n regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning.’ Office of the prime Minister twitted

Until now, a clear cause for the accident is still unknown.
