News of the death of a young woman who was recently kidnapped and murdered by unknown persons has sent shock waves and grief across the country.
Maria Nagirinya, a daughter of former KKC councilolor Francis Lubowa of Nsambya, was kidnapped on Wednesday night at 11:40 along with her driver at the entrance of her gate in Lungujja, a suburb of Kampala.
Family members say that Nagirinya was returning home with her driver one Ronald Kitayimbwa when assailants hijacked the duo. Police says that the hijackers drove the duo in Nagirinya’s car towards Mukono.
A search ensued until Friday morning when relatives and police confirmed that the bodies of the two had been dumped in a trench at a village called Nakitutuli, Nama subcounty a few kilometres from Mukono town.
Nagirinya’s death has resurrected fears about the mysterious kidnap and afterwards murder of women.
It also comes nearly a year after the brutal murder of Susan Magara who apparently was also residing in Lungujja.
