Event Organizers to pay for airport passes at Entebbe
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced new charges for organizations and visitors who intend to stage an event at Entebbe International Airport, a measure the airport authority says will improve service delivery.
Â
In a press statement, CAA says event organizers and visitors will pay US $5 for a one day Airport Security Pass to facilitate a visitor to have access to restricted areas.
The Civil Aviation officials add that event organizers will pay US $50 for facilitating three people with passes and putting up a banner and a welcome table in the Arrivals Hall. Any extra person on the event organizer’s team will also pay US $5 or its equivalent.
The only categories of people to be exempted from non payment of Security Pass fees, the statement adds, are Diplomats, Government officials on duty, Very Important Persons (VIPs), passengers claiming their baggage, exporters of fresh produce, tour operators (facilitating tourism activities) and CAA contractors.
Implementation of the new has already begun and payment is made at the CAA Revenue Office on 2nd Floor, Passenger Terminal Building and the receipt presented to the Aviation Security Office for facilitation.
