Maruzi County member of Parliament David Ebong-Abongo was last weekend hosted at state house in Entebbe to officially mark his crossing to the ruling NRM political party.

Ebong-Abongo, who is an independent MP of Maruzi County in Apach district, led a delegation of Apac Anti-corruption Coalition which had visited the president in Entebbe. The MP is also the Patron of anti-corruption coalition.

Museveni praised the MP and his efforts in fighting corruption. The president said the example of grassroots anti-corruption war given by the Apac anti-corruption coalition should be emulated throughout the country.  He urged the civil society in Uganda to take on the fight against corruption.

Referring to the misuse of funds sent to districts for service delivery and development the President said:

“This is your money and some people are eating it in front of you.  It is your inheritance.  You must fight those who are bent on stealing your inheritance”.
He donated a vehicle to the Apac Anti-Corruption Coalition to ease its transport needs in the anti-graft struggle.

Ebong committed himself to taking the NRM principles and mobilizing the people of Apac around them.  He commended the President for his able leadership which had ushered peace and security to the Lango region.
