NRM sued for approving MP who didn't sit PLE exams

The flood of accusations of incompetence by several NRM members may be the beginning of problems facing officials at the party's ill-equipped electoral department. The Sunrise exclusively reveals that someone by the names of Alice Asiimwe Kanyarufu has dragged NRM's electoral body for nominating Lyantonde Woman Member of Parliament Grace Namara to contest in the party primary for the same position.

Kanyarufu, a movement supporter had wanted to dislodge Namara at the primaries.

Kyarufu also dragged Namara to the High court accusing her of forging a Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) certificate going on to use the same to enroll for secondary and university studies.
The Lyantonde woman MP, also wife to Kampala City tycoon Godfrey Kirumira, may fail in her bid to return to Parliament.

Namara's woes surfaced after Nsangi Boarding Primary School, where she claims to have sat for her PLE in 1990, dismissed the result and certificate as fake.

To make matters worse for Namara, Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has since too rejected the legislator's certificate. None other than UNEB's Secretary, Mathew Bukenya swore an affidavit rubbishing Namara's PLE certificate.

Her witnesses include UNEB's Mathew Bukenya, who swore an affidavit, giving weight to Kanyarufu's testimony that Namara's PLE certificate was but counterfeit.
Bukenya says Namara's secondary and university qualifications were all by implications a nullity since she did not sit for PLE.

Nsangi Boarding Primary School's headmaster, Paul Ssentongo also swore an affidavit, indicating that Namara never attended the school at all.
Kanyarufu wants Namara to be ejected from the race, be prosecuted for holding fake academic papers and also pay her costs of the case.
