Muslim Council axes Mubajje
The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council top organ, The General Assembly, suspended Mufti Sheik Shaban Mubajje basing on a damning report from the council vice-chairman, Ahmed Wadrif, following a January-February probe.
The probe found that Mubajje had become autocratic, despotic and dictatorial at the council.
Earlier, Bassajjabalaba, the Council Chairman suspended Mubajje, a move Mubajje countered by also suspending Basajjabalaba over commissioning an investigation against him.Mubajje said the investigation was biased.

CHOGM engineer jailed
Samson Bagonza, the former chief engineer at the Ministry of Works and Transport, was sentenced to five years in prison by the head of the Anti-Corruption Court, Justice John Bosco Katutsi.Bagonza was imprisoned for abuse of office and causing a financial loss of sh1.6b.
