ICC destabilizing Africa

Share

The biggest clientele of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is Africa. The ICC investigates and prosecutes war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Most of the African countries were forced, some against their will, to append their signatures as members of ICC. Ironically, USA did not append its signature to the Rome statute establishing the ICC.

We should all go out to register

The Electoral Commission has extended the registration exercise by another one month. This goes on up to mid June this year. It is my humble appeal that we all go out to register, because if we don't, we shall all get the leaders we deserve.

It is not enough to say that you support a given candidate when you have not registered to elect the candidate. Those of us who are tired of Museveni and his group can only bring about real change if registered and denied him the ballot. One vote can cause a difference.

Who benefits from street beggars?

The problem of street beggars is as old as prostitution. And we cannot do anything to curb this problem since in almost every society there are beggars.

I used to think that in Europe there were no beggars, but I was dumbstruck on seeing beggars line up the streets of Britain. Back here at home, the problem is out of hand.

Won't NDP fail too?

The Government launched The National Development Plan (NDP) on September 19, 2010 in Kampala.

The theme of the conference, that preceded the official launch, was "Transforming the Ugandan society from a peasant to a modern and prosperous middle class within 30 years".

The NDP is replacing the Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP), another engine of socio-economic transformation that was supposed to have seen Ugandans much richer and healthier by now.
