Time should have been USL fact

Share
FUFA has finally agreed that USL manages and runs the league under Uganda Super League limited (USL). Both parties are therefore not going to play a game of staking but it's rather one of the issues that were addressed during the Jinja declaration early this year, where the league and super league clubs must run professionally for the good of the game of football.

It's also good that there is no longer going to be any more complainants by clubs and their respective officials over Fufa and league business, because now, they (USL) take up the responsibility. So when the league and other league-related things are messed, they have themselves to blame.

USL is cheap Football talk

Change is a fact of life which we all have to comply with. It's also commonly said that if   you don't change with change, change will change you. I concur with all this and for a reason.

But, when it's a change for things where only selfish interests are to be served at the expense of the interests of others, then I am not game.

In this very context, it's my considered opinion and view that the interests, the label and the motives of the directors who are behind the Uganda Super League (USL) idea, is idle and cheap talk in football.

Use sports to promote culture-Minister

"People from different cultural backgrounds should come together and unite in sports," State Minister for Disability, Sulaiman Madada said during the 8th edition of YMCA sport gala at YMCA, Wandegeya.

He said that sports does not discriminate between the disabled and the able-bodied persons. "Sports brings together the able and disabled persons.  So, I encourage the public to actively participate in sports," Madada said.

The disciplines played include d football, Basketball, Tennis, Pool Table, Athletics, Domino, Ludo, and Karate Sitting Volleyball.

No answers; still shocked. But why soccer fans?

Share
Today if you ask me why Kyadondo Rugby Club or Ethiopian Village restaurant; why soccer fans as targets and again why Uganda World Cup watchers, I still will mince words.

Perhaps my answer will come from a self designed query and without scratching the head I will respond, I am shocked.

Reason, I was seated in the middle of the crowed at Kyadondo, giving tips and at the same time making my opinion on which coach got the players' selections right; which country (Spain and Netherlands) would win the prestigious world soccer trophy.

From the look of things I had already addressed myself that Spain was winning the match though I sympathized with Holland, but still went on to talk about the positives and negatives of both teams lest people doubt my journalism ethics if I  dare took sides.
