Jinja golf course is the place to be this weekend when Eskom sponsored golf tournament kicks off at Jinja Golf Club.

According to the organisers of the two day long event, the tournament will be played in two categories: the professional and amateur golfers.

Over 20 professional golfers and a big number of amateur golfers were confirmed to take part in the event which is co-sponsored by Stanbic Bank.

Eskom Uganda and Stanbic Bank have sponsored the Jinja Golf Tournament to the tune of Ushs 20M.

"Eskom is privileged to associate with the golf community in Uganda by sponsoring the tournament, and the golfers are eager to participate," said Nokwanda Mngeni, Managing Director Eskom Uganda.

The power generation company (Eskom) uses events such as this as an opportunity to develop sports in the country, particularly golf.

The Eskom Golf Tour 2010 will be crowned with a prize giving ceremony at Jinja Golf Club this Sunday.

H.E. Mr. Jon Qwelane, the South African High Commissioner to Uganda, is expected to grace the award giving ceremony as chief guest. blog comments powered by Disqus
