That second set of the final match against fellow finalist and tournament seed two (2) Michael Kawoya gave Bruce a yawn for more good display and performance if he needed to win the title again last Saturday at Kampala Club .
2009 lady defending champion Katie Kabenge could not defend her title having lost 0-3 to Edith Wamalwa at the same event.
The Central Bank's sponsored week-long squash finals was watched by a full house of fans as governor Tumusiime Mutebile cheered on the men from start to finish.
Bruce almost handed the title to Kawoya, losing the second game but bounced back from an all-one result to win the third and fourth sets- taking the biggest prize.
"I almost handed victory over to my opponent, but realised I had to defend the title for another year. I regained and composed myself with a title in focus. I am really happy I made it," said Bruce whose fortune into the tournament depended on his consistence and focus from game one.
I was focused and during the final, I studied my opponent well. He was rushing into and he never took location," Bruce said.
Such handed Bruce an opportunity especially where his opponent was faulting a lot and off in poor locations to a 3-1 set win.
Edith edged former lady queen Katie to win the ladies' category trophy last weekend at Kampala Club courts.
