Who takes the title?
This applies to the super league clubs especially the title contenders of Express, URA and Bunamwaya. The three are in a crucial moment in that the league is in its last five games least of which none would want to lose even a single point.
The three clubs' opportunity could be:
Express FC
The Reds accumulated 65 points from 30 games after defeating the Army side Simba FC 2-0, thanks to veterans Phillip Obwiny and Hassan Mubiru.
The Reds have the potential to win the title for the first time in a couple of years. However, wining all their remaining games is the question of the day. Express has to face URA, KCC and troubled Villa in what is expected to be the title deciding game.
Their squad is mixed with both experienced and young players like Daniel Serunkuma and Noah Ssemakula, Obwiny and Mubiru they could guide the team to championship.
Bunamwaya FC
The Wakiso-based club returned to the top after their 2-0 over Majji at Nakivubo on Monday June 14, thanks to Tony Odur and Owen Kasule.
They leveled at 65 points from 30 games, but with 35 goal difference 6 above second placed URA and 7 above Express.
Compared to other two title contenders, Bunamwaya has the best players who could do anything to win their maiden league title. Players like Tony Odur the leading goal scorer at 16 goals, Owen Kasule, Caesar Okhuti, Hamza Muwonge who had a good day against Majji fc, and among others who are talented, paid in time, and given the facilities that they may need from the club owner and Fufa president Lawrence Mulindwa.
In their last four games, Bunamwaya will not face Express but are to tussle it out with the second-placed URA and Villa, in which games each club would want the three points to stand a chance of winning the title.
URA FC
The tax collectors are second on the league table tied-up at 65 points from 30 games with both Bunamwaya and Express respectively.
URA are the defending champions of the league and after a disappointment season in CAF competition which resulted into sacking of Coach Moses Basena, they are looking forward to defending the league and taking part in the CAF tournament to revenge next season.
However they must win against KCC, Police, Bunamwaya and Express to stand a chance
They scooped Coach Ibrahim Kiirya to assist Alex Isabirye, whom they trust as appropriate replacement for Basena.
URA has good players who would include Michael Sserumaga, Henry Kisekka, Manko Kaweesa and Augustine Nsumba, but the display on the pitch is not convincing. They suffer inconsistence especially on big games which might cost them. Their headcoach is also questionable.

Villa's unrest
The club officials tried to resolve disputes, this being the second consecutive season of unrest at the club. Players' payments and administrative wrangles have plagued the division.
The players are claiming salary arrears of 4-6months plus allowances. This forced them to boycott the game against Mbale-based CRO at Namboole stadium.
According to inside sources, the club looks to be in an alarming situation to the extent that some players might not even feature in the team for the entire season. Some players, speaking on conditions of anonymity, revealed to The Sunrise that the expulsion of Hood Kaweesa and Dan Walusimbi exacerbated the situation, and stressed that this would not end until the two players are recalled back to the camp.
"We reacted as a team over our payments but they expelled only two," they said. It should be noted that many of the players are contract-free and are not willing to renew them because of Villa's failure to take part in the CAF Confederation's cup this season. Coach Ibrahim Kiirya also left the club to the tax collectors, URA fc.
When contacted on line, Villa official Luyimbazi Mugalu said that many clubs had such problems but he promised to amicably solve the problems to have the club shine again. "We've some internal problems like any other club, but we shall amicably solve them to see Joogo shine again," he said. blog comments powered by Disqus
