“Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine were the drivers of Ugandan music and the most honest artistes Uganda has ever had but ever since they joined politics you can feel how the music industry is stagnating without competition”.
Outspoken events promoter Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo has cited the lack of A Bobi – Bebe competition in Music has heavily contributed to the stagnation and lack of flavour in the Ugandan Music Industry.
Bajjo who was hosted on NBS’s “Chartroom” by Karitas Karisimbi described Bobi Wine’s joining politics and Bebe Cool having a political inclination as harming Uganda’s Music industry.
He added “We always thought we have Chameleon but he is not trustworthy, you cannot let the industry be driven by a person who is not honest. The person who could have filled that void would have been Mowzey Radio who is no more”
However Bajjo said that despite the gloomy situation, there are still artistes who can take the mantle to drive the industry forward and these include David Lutalo, Mesach Ssemakula,Geoffrey Lutaaya and John Black among others.
On why there are are no ladies on his top list Bajjo said its difficult to organize an event of ladies only with out adding men as headliners.
