This is the clan where Ugandas iconic figures like  John Ssebaana Kizito, Minister Rosemary Seninde and DP secretary general Mathias Nsubuga, Sarah Kizito, football  legend  Hassan Mubiru aka Luis Figo and Uganda Tourism Board’s John Ssempebwa belong.

The list includes celebrity singers Eddy Kenzo, Peter Miles Kanyike, Maddox Sematimba, Haruna Mubiru, and Dr Hilderman Kiyaga, as well as law legend Professor Fredrick E. Ssempebwa and the whole Archbishop of Kampala Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.

Mamba clan is one of the clans of the Baganda people, the largest ethnic group in Uganda. People of the same clan according to Baganda customers are relatives.

Historically, the Mamba clan has also offered Buganda kingdom a total of nine Kabakas such as Mwanga I, Suuna II, Kiwewa, and Kalema, among others. This is indeed a historical clan.

In traditional Buganda, every clan has a role in the administration of the kingdom, and the Mamba clan offered the heads of the royal navy. The same clan is also tasked as the keepers of Naggalabi Hill, where the Kabaka is crowned.

The Mamba clan is the largest clan in Buganda, estimated to have more than three million members. And for this reason, the clan heads are coming up with the first ever initiative among Baganda clans to modernize its norms and customs.

On December 8th, 2016, the clan’s who is who will be having a dinner at Kololo Gardens hotel to launch the construction of a world class, ultra modern heritage site at Nkajja.

The tickets are on sale at Bulange Mengo and are selling like hot cake. Organizers say no tickets will be sold at the dinner so they encourage all Mamba clan members and well wishers to get themselves a ticket early enough at only sh100,000.

The chief guest at the dinner will be Buganda prince David Wasajja whose wife, Marion Nankya, is a member of the Mamba clan, thus, he is related to the clan.

Your ticket can be delivered to your convenient place by calling Miss Tourism Buganda, Margaret Nakaye, on her cellphone number 0781424351.
