The police has said they will crash any form of violence during this electoral period.

While addressing the press this week, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga (pictured) said: “No form of violence will be allowed in this period of elections.”

This comes after Police stopped what they called an illegal rally by the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) that was scheduled for Rukungiri last week.

Enanga said FDC’s flag bearer Dr. Kizza Besigye did not follow the guidelines of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the police.
In a scuffle between the police and FDC supporters one Fatimah Nayigaga was left partially nude, sparking public outrage especially on social media.

While TV footage shows that Nayigaga was roughed up and had her nudity exposed, the Police claim she undressed herself and she will be charged for “public nuisance.”
