The Late Dr. Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo

The former Arch-Bishop of the Church of Uganda Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo has succumbed to Cancer after a long battle with the disease.

Nkoyoyo’s name is not only familiar with most Anglicans in Uganda, he’s being remembered for his pioneering work for many economic projects that have transformed the leadership as well as the economy of the Church.

President Yoweri Kaguta, praised the late Nkyoyoyo as a man of action an passionate about improving the welfare of all believers as well as church leaders.

Museveni posted on his social media accounts saying: “Heard about the passing of Retired Archbishop Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo of the Church of Uganda. He was a principled shepherd of the flock. A religious leader whose actions matched his words. He was also passionate on improving the welfare of his flock and led by example. He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.

A preliminary programme has been released by CoU indicating that the body of the late Nkoyoyo will be laid to rest at Namugongo Nears the Anglican Shrines on Tuesday on January 10.
