Uganda’s delegation to the 2019 East Africa Bi-Annual Festival of Culture, Arts and Music also known as JAMAFEST, was this week flagged off by the State Minister for Youth and Children Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.

The strong delegation that comprised artists, exhibitors, performers, painters, poets, and government officials set off from the Uganda National Cultural Centre on a two-day road trip to Dar-es-Salaam through Mutukula border.

The festival slated for September 21-28, is now in its 4th edition. It is being held in Tanzania under the theme: Cultural Diversity; A key Driver to Regional Integration, Economic Growth and Promotion of Tourism.

The government has supported the attendance of some of the participants through a UGX100m budget, according to Culture State Minister Peace Mutuuzo. Other exhibitors, especially those that will sell crafts, sponsored their own travel while the government supported the transportation of their machandise.
