British Heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua exacted sweet revenge against Mexican Andy Ruiz with a unanimous points victory in their rematch fight in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Joshua outpunched Ruiz in an entertaining display to reclaim the WBO, WBA (Super) and IBF titles he lost to Andy Ruiz in their first showdown six months ago, outboxing the Mexican in a punch-perfect display.
Joshua even received congratulations from his former victim Vladmir Klitschko whom he beat in 2017.
Ruiz blames weight
Andy Ruiz said three months of partying and a lack of proper training left him “overweight” for his world title rematch with Anthony Joshua.
“I should have trained harder. I should have listened to my team and coaches,” he said.
“For this fight I was overweight. I didn’t move how I wanted to.”
The Mexican vowed he would be “a lot better” if he gets a third fight.
