Madam Jennifer plant more trees along city roads

KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi

When the former KCC planted trees along Entebbe road and Ggaba road in preparation for the Queen’s visit in 2007, unfortunately it did not come to pass.

A number of trees planted at that time either dried up or were destroyed by un caring Ugandans as a result, the two roads Entebbe and Ggaba do not have trees along the road.

It is important to stress that trees bring life to the city. They make the city beautiful and unique; they give the city a beautiful scenery, while the city dwellers enjoy fresh air as a result.

Beautiful cities in the world like Kigali, Cape Town,  Doha, parts of Nairobi,  New York produce beautiful sceneries because of the green provided by the trees and flowers planted on every road.  But even in Uganda we have beautiful towns like Entebbe and Fort Portal which are a breath of fresh air when you visit them. The town authorities in these towns have planted trees and this has made them attractive and the people who live in these towns are so proud of this.

Now I am requesting Madam Jennifer conjure up an image of Entebbe road becoming a boulevard

I mean a road lined between towering beautiful trees. Has it ever occurred to you. You do not need much like the guy in Doha who has to water the trees every day as you sometimes get free rains from God? Definitely these would give Kampala city beautiful scenery since its capital city of Uganda.

Therefore I to Kampala Capital City Authority to consider this as a priority which I am sure wil change the face of this city for the better.
